How do the credits work and how are they applied?

To participate, you must have an active utility account. Once you sign up, you will create an account through SunCentral’s secure platform. There, you can enroll in autopay, and set-up your payment preference by bank withdrawal (ACH) or credit card.

The solar credits you receive on your electric will cover most of your expenses owed to the utility, but you still may owe taxes and fees. Most often, you will receive a second invoice from SunCentral for your subscription. In some markets, like New York, you may be enrolled in utility consolidated billing (UCB), where you will see your net savings on your bill. Otherwise, you will be billed for the value of your solar credits less your subscription discount.

For example, if your discount is 10%*, SunCentral will invoice you for 90% of your credits; you save 10% each month — guaranteed! (see: How Billing Works)
